Kitchen Cleaning Tips
1.) Fats & Used oil . For an easier disposal, it would be wise to put these liquids oil in an unused container (maybe a glass, plastic or can) and cover it. Freeze it and throw it later.
2.) Reuse plastic shopping bags either as a can liners or something to wrap your garbage before putting it in a bigger garbage can.
3.) Always clean your sink and sink drains. To keep the sink clean and removes build up blockages, put a capfull of washing soda down the drain and follow it with a potful of boiling water, at least once a week.

You Are What You Eat
Here are a few habits that are worth adopting:
1. Slow down to avoid overeating. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to know your stomach is full.
2. Eat foods from all the food groups. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Don't forget the fiber.
3. Limit fats, oils and sugar.
4. Drink plenty of water. Stay away from sodas and other high calorie and high sugar drinks.
5. Watch portions. Even low-calorie foods can add up if the servings are too big.

Diet warning
In 2004, The FDA banned Ephedra, an amphetamine-like herb used in weight-loss supplements. They've been linked to life-threatening heart palpitations an strokes. These drugs containing ephedra may still be found an ordered online, so beware.
Be wary of the supplements ads that boost rapid weight loss or instant energy, and check their ingredients list for ephedra or ma huang (the chinese name of the herb) advises James Dillard, M.D., medical director of the Rosenthal Center for Complimentary and Alternative Medicine at Columbia University in New York.

Try This 4-Step Diet for Your Hair
She wrote that these four steps diet will put hair to be lustrous and healthier.
Step 1: Eat plenty of iron-rich protein. Good sources of iron-rich protein include clams, oysters, lean beef, turkey, duck, lamb, chicken, pork, shrimp, and eggs. Ahhh! Yummy! I learned that
Protein is necessary for all cell growth, including hair cells. And the iron found within certain protein foods helps your red blood cells carry oxygen to all cells in the body, including the hair follicles.
Good sources of vegetarian iron-rich protein include tofu, soybeans, lentils, beans, and black-eyed peas.
Step 2: Load up on Vitamin C
Vitamin C improves the body's ability to absorb non-heme iron (also known as vegetarian-based iron), so vegetarians should eat iron-rich vegetables and foods rich in vitamin C at the same meal.
Good sources of Vitamin C include guava, peppers, oranges, grapefruit, strawberries, pineapple, papayas, lemons, broccoli, kale, and Brussels sprouts.
Step 3: Be sure to get your Bs (folate, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12)
These vitamins are involved in the creation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen and nutrients to all body cells, including those of the scalp, follicles, and growing hair. Without enough B vitamins, the cells will not thrive, causing shedding, slow growth, or weak hair that is prone to breaking.
Good sources of vitamin B-6 include fortified whole-grain breakfast cereals, garbanzo beans, wild salmon, lean beef, pork tenderloin, chicken breast, white potatoes (w/skin), bananas, and lentils.
Good sources of Vitamin B-12 include shellfish (clams, oysters, crab), wild salmon, fortified whole-grain breakfast cereal, soy milk, trout, lean beef, and low-fat cottage cheese.
Good sources of folate include fortified whole-grain breakfast cereals, lentils, black-eyed peas, soybeans, oatmeal, turnip greens, spinach, green peas, artichokes, okra, beets, parsnips, and broccoli.
Step 4: Don't forget the Zinc
The mineral zinc is involved in tissue growth and repair, including hair growth. It also helps keep the oil glands around the hair follicles working properly. Low levels of zinc can cause hair loss, slow growth, and dandruff.
Good sources of zinc include oysters, lean beef, crab, ostrich, pork tenderloin, peanut butter, wheat germ, turkey, veal, pumpkin seeds, chicken, and chickpeas.

Boost Mood
I must admit that I am sometimes lazy in doing exercise. I tried yoga and taebo and other short exercises but I always go back to my favorite, dancing. This is why, I like the idea of having a buddy during exercise. I always fail in some exercises because I gets bored at our exercise room exercising alone. Or maybe, I just don't have enough will to do so. My mother always say that when a person WANTS, there's a lot of way to make it happen but when a person don't want, less motivated, there's a bunch of excuses he could make to cover up or defend his weak will. I think mom is right. I am just thankful that I like dancing a lot and I do it in a regular basis. I think the beat of the music and the freedom of movement gets me more. So far I am doing good at it and I really believe that exercising affects my mood. I am happy that I am burning calories, I feel light and moves easy. Makes my day more bright and fun. How about you guys? what exercise work best for you?

Sushi: A Surprising Health Food
Yahoo Health
Are you a sushi fanatic or do you have trouble getting past the thought of eating raw fish? Well, it turns out that our national indulgence in this tasty and visually enticing treat from Japan may also be good for our health.
Sushi is generally made with white rice and sweet rice vinegar, fresh vegetables, seaweed, sesame seeds, and cooked or raw seafood. Like many other Japanese foods, sushi tends to be low in fat, cholesterol, and calories.
In addition, sushi that has seafood as an ingredient is often an excellent source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which lower the risk of blood clots and decrease triglyceride levels.
The fresh vegetables in most sushi also have essential vitamins and minerals. The seaweed wrapping for these rolls is rich in micronutrients and phytochemicals.
A few cautions if you are an avid sushi eater but have high blood pressure or are pregnant or nursing. Sushi made with seaweed tends to be a little higher in sodium, as is the soy sauce that each piece is dipped in.
Too much sodium in the diet contributes to high blood pressure. And if you are pregnant or nursing, be sure to avoid sushi made from fish, either raw or cooked. The raw fish may carry unwanted bacteria and any sushi made from fish, whether cooked or uncooked, is likely to contain high levels of mercury.

Just Do It!
Sometimes I get so lazy doing my little exercise. I get that burnt out feeling. I think if I am walking or jogging with a partner, I would probably work harder because I think it would be very helpful for me if there will be someone who'll push me to just do it even if I don't feel like doing it. Plus, I might be forced to follow our schedules. Hahaha. Hmmm...I think it's time to look for a work out partner. The search starts..now!
Facial care
The first thing we notice at someone is his face. Whether we admit it or not, beauty matters to most people although the cliche' that says beauty is in the eye of the beholder is somewhat true. I know beauty is skin deep but because the face is the very first thing people notice, it is important that we take care of our face. A good facial routine will even make someone more beautiful and that's of course aside from the radiant beauty from within.
I believe there are 3 steps to a good facial care routine. If you wear make up, the more that you need to have a good facial routine. A routine of CLEANSING, TONING, & MOISTURIZING. Washing your face every morning will also freshen up your look.
1. Cleansing - it will remove old make-up, the grime and grease that have been accumulated during your the day. To make the job easier, keep your hair off your face.
2. Toning - toners will remove all traces of make up and dirt that remain after cleansing.
3. Moisturizing - it is necessary to moisturize or skin to remain the smooth and supple. The moisturizers will protect our skin from the drying effect of the weather and will form a film over our skin. It will contain and augment our skin's natural moisture. There are so many facial cleansers, toners and moisturizers in the market. It is always good to select one that matches our skin type to boost the effects of this three. While you do this routine everyday, you are also massaging your skin, thus helping the blood to flow good and that alone will give a good skin care. Above all, good laughters and smiles always helps boost your natural beauty. So laugh often and exercise a lot.
