Omega-3 Against Alzheimer's

I learned from the news that the U.S. researchers have launched a study to examine whether an omega-3 fatty acid called docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) can help slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease.

According to the news, the 18-month clinical trial that is supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will be conducted at 52 sites across the United States and will seek to enroll 400 people, age 50 and older, with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease.

Hulu

Check out Hulu.com. It is offering dozens of full-length TV shows and movies for free. They are currently available for test viewing and you can send your email address so they can contact you when the site is ready. I think this will be a great website. Hulu aims to curtail violations of copyright of unauthorized videos online an video clips.

You Are What You Eat

Did you know that eating together as a family can help your children learn good habits? Kids imitate what they see. If you make healthy food choices, they are more likely to do the same.

Here are a few habits that are worth adopting:

1. Slow down to avoid overeating. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to know your stomach is full.

2. Eat foods from all the food groups. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Don't forget the fiber.

3. Limit fats, oils and sugar.

4. Drink plenty of water. Stay away from sodas and other high calorie and high sugar drinks.

5. Watch portions. Even low-calorie foods can add up if the servings are too big.
